The bill

Line by line

Prices as listed in the UK App Store, checked on 27 October 2026 across about 100 Muslim apps. Which features are paid comes from each app’s store listing, website or help pages, and from reviews where those say nothing. The App Store shows at most ten prices for an app, so some plans may be missing.

Not on the bill. Prayer times, the Qibla, a Zakat calculator, the Hijri date and duas are free in almost every Muslim app, so they aren’t itemised here. Khalis has them too, at no cost.

Not in Khalis. Some things other apps sell aren’t in Khalis at all, such as a watch app, AI features, video and courses.

What free means here

Free, with nothing attached

Free can mean a lot of things. In Khalis it means all six of these.

  • No ads

Not before the adhan, not between the verses, not anywhere. There is no advertising code in the app at all.

  • No in-app purchases

Nothing to buy inside the app, and nothing locked away waiting for a payment.

  • No subscription

Nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel and no trial that turns into a charge.

  • No premium version

One Khalis, with nothing kept back for a paid version.

  • No account

No email, no sign-in, no password to forget.

  • No data to sell

Khalis collects nothing about you, so there is nothing to sell. Your records are kept on your phone, and in your own iCloud only if you turn sync on.

Why it can be free

No servers of its own to rent

An app that runs on servers has to pay for them, and someone ends up paying that bill. Khalis does its work on your phone and keeps what it needs there.

  • On your phone

Prayer times and the Qibla, worked out there with the open-source Adhan library.

The Quran text, Pickthall’s English, Tafsir al-Jalalayn and the tajweed colours, all inside the app.

Your prayers, fasts, memorisation and settings.

  • From the Islamic Network

The recitations, streamed from its free library when you press play.

Save a surah and it plays from your phone instead.

  • Where you choose

Your own iCloud, on iPhone and only if you turn sync on: a copy of your records for your other Apple devices.

A backup file, saved wherever you like.

  • Khalis’s own servers

    None

Nothing to host, so no server bill to pass on to you.

And that is the bill

Nothing to pay, and nothing to hand over
